Below is the link to a speech I presented during spring semester of freshman year. The speech explains the issues that the world has been facing due to the energy sources used to power the world, and includes insight into how America should deal with the current energy crisis. This issue is one that interests me greatly, and I would love to contribute to the effort to convert America, and the rest of the world, into a cleaner and more efficient producer of electricity. I wanted to get to know more about what research had already been done, and share that knowledge with others so they too will encourage others to make a change to move away from our current harmful energy sources. In order to strengthen my speech, I added a few lines to the introduction to make it clearer that the purpose of the speech was to persuade the audience to take action, and try to ensure that America changes its supply for energy. I also improved the transitions between different subjects and tried to vary the tone of my voice where applicable, so that my speech was easier on the ears and clear enough to follow.
